See What Your Dentist Sees
An intraoral camera is a small video camera that takes a photo of the inside of the mouth, including the outside of the gums and teeth. The intraoral camera resembles an oversized pen. While simultaneously viewing a monitor, the dental team member inserts the camera into the patient's mouth and gently shifts it to take images from various angles. Our dental team finds this to be a highly effective visual aid that helps educate our patients on their oral health.
HOW IT WORKS
A Real-Time Look Inside Your Mouth
The camera looks and handles like an oversized pen. As the dentist or hygienist moves it around your mouth, high-resolution images appear on the monitor beside you in real time. This means you can see exactly what we see: a cracked filling, early decay, gum inflammation, or wear pattern, and understand why we're recommending a particular treatment. It's a diagnostic tool and a patient education tool rolled into one.
